After 4 exhausting, but at the same time exhilarating weeks in Africa, I am eager to share with you what God has done during our two crusades in Kenya and Sudan. Nothing is more touching than seeing the crowds literally run to the front to give their lives to Jesus Christ. 

Our first crusade took us to Wundanyi, Kenya (February 22 – 28, 2010), where we were joined by Pastor Gerard de Groot and his team from Holland. Wundanyi is a town where witchcraft and satanic rituals are rampant. People live in bondage and under demonic curses. However, we had a tremendous breakthrough early on, when God led us to take authority and break the curses spoken over the land. When the power of God fell over the crowd, masses were set free and the healing power of God flowed. One of the most visible miracles was when a huge tumor literally disappeared from a lady’s body. As word of the move of God spread, people walked great distances, even through the torrential rains, to be part of this crusade. On Sunday, the last day of our crusade, 8,000 people gathered in our tent, equaling 200% of the town’s population. By the end of our crusade, we had received 1,609 precious decisions for Christ!

Where they once were shot as “infidels”

After many hours of travel by plane and car, we then arrived in Torit, Sudan, for our next crusade (March 10 -14).  We were joined by Gospel Fire International, who provided the equipment for the crusade. In the past, Torit had been invaded several times by Moslems from the North, who forced Islam on the population. They killed followers of Christ as “infidels”.  Even though we faced great challenges and language barriers (there are more than 260 languages in Sudan), God gave us tremendous victory.  The people were so hungry for the message of the Gospel, and more than 3,500 people in this town gave their lives to Christ during our 5-day outreach.

At our first meeting, we were led to start burning the people’s witchcraft charms, cigarettes and even bottles of alcohol in a large drum. People were throwing them to the front and it almost looked as if it were raining these items.  After burning their charms and symbols of witchcraft, the freedom from bondage was tremendous! We witnessed many healing miracles, as the power of God came over the crowd.  One old lady, who had been totally blind for 9 years, suddenly felt her eyes open during our last service. She was known in the community and the crowd went wild and rejoiced with her, giving God the glory. It was so moving to see so many people give their testimonies, full of joy and so grateful for what God has done!

We strongly feel the LORD leading us to step up the number of crusades from 4 to 7 this year.  This means that our costs will increase as well.  It is a big step of faith.  Would you please consider helping us to make these crusades possible?

20% of the towns population came to Christ in one week!

 
9960 people in one single service!  This was the equivalent of the whole population of Kilgoris!

A few years ago, missionaries would consider themselves fortunate if just a hand full responded to the Gospel.   One missionary, that accompanied us, said that in the past, people would just stand at a distance and laugh at Gospel meetings.

You have turned my mourning into dancing!

This is one of those times in life where we stood shocked at what had happened.  There had been so much rain on Saturday night before the crusade, and the tent had not yet been properly secured.  The weight of the water broke 12 of the tent poles which in turn tore holes into the canvas.  We could still use the tent and the damage is fixable, but we were challenged to the core! Then on Sunday, before the last meeting, a whirlwind caused our tent to fall almost completely to the ground.  It was so violent, that it took the roof off a house nearby, causing the iron sheets from that roof to fly hundreds of yards above the ground.  Our team managed to get things back up before the service started.  Even this did not affect the Gospel meetings at all! 
 What we witnessed was indeed a real taste of revival: almost the whole city of Kilgoris  turned out to hear the Word of God and see Him performing wonderful miracles and healings. Great joy spread in many areas.  Christians and non-Christians alike were excited about the visible heavenly grace. Someone said: “Although I’ve been working here all day at my petrol station, my mind has been with you and what’s happening there at the tent. I’d love to be there!”  Others commented: “Two years ago, this place was infected with strive, mutual hatred and full of ridicule for the Gospel.   But these days we can see what God can do.  A very positive report is spreading about the events here in Kilgoris!”  Even hell would not have guessed that it would be robbed by almost 2000 souls and that many a sickness and infirmity would see the compassion and healing power of the living God.  We can only share a fraction of what God did in this report.

Rev. Paul Tocco, a missionary to Kenya, said the following:
“I believe that this crusade has sparked great revival in this town.”

I have been coming to Kilgoris since 1994.  What I am seeing here is a dramatic change in this town.  In the past we have seen this town plagued by corruption, tribal clashes, under development and poverty.  I have seen more people come to Christ in this crusade than I think anyone has ever experienced in this area before.  I believe that Kilgoris has been won for Jesus Christ.

When a Massai gets saved, they turn from their traditions and witchcraft.  When people change, there is a change in the whole community. 

I believe that this crusade has sparked great revival in this town, because big numbers are coming and the atmosphere in the town is changing to God’s glory.  God  has used CitA Ministries to just explode this town for Jesus Christ.  Every day more and more numbers are being saved.

Tremendous wave of miracles!

More then 4000 come to Christ at this crusade!

We can only praise the Lord for what He has done in Goma! So many people came to Jesus Christ during this Crusade. It will always be the biggest miracle to see people come to Jesus Christ.

When Chris Franz made an alter call many people, children and adults alike, pushed their way through the crowd to the front to give their lives to Jesus. God is "KABAMBE" (big, almighty)! Many were set free! Outstanding healings took place during the crusade.

Goma cannot be compared to the living standards in Europe. There is a lack of almost everything. When you drive through the streets of Goma and you see the stream of lava which came down from the mountain and took with it everything in its path. In spite of all this misery, there is hope for Goma. It was wonderful to see how people opened there hearts for Jesus, praying and confessing there sins out loud. I pray that the churches will be capable to follow up the thousands of people that came to Jesus Christ.

I was very impressed by our visit to the refugee camp outside Goma. Many families "living" there were hit by the lava stream and lost all they had. My eyes filled with tears when I saw the great need. They are just surviving in the slums. We, as CITA brought blankets, clothes and soap to help these precious people. It was difficult to give these things to the people because there was a jostling and restless crowd.

The purpose of CITA Ministries is to reach as many people as possible for Jesus Christ. I respect what Chris Franz and his team is doing, it is well worth your support!

Chris Franz had the privilege of preaching in the prison, where many have been executed by execution squads.  You could see hundreds of bullet holes at head level along the walls.  There in one of the darkest places the light of God shined brightly! 189 inmates came to Christ! Immediately after the service, the newly saved were baptized by a local pastor.

Sarah (left in the picture) was far too sick to attend the crusade. Six years earlier, she had a sinus infection which kept getting worse. Her body would not respond to any medication. Two years ago, she was forced to leave her university because of terrible head aches. She would lay in bed and not be able to move. She was due to fly to Kenya for an operation in one of the most reputable hospials of Africa. The Lord led Ev. Franz to pray for hankerchiefs and items from the sick that could not come to the meetings. Her braclet was brought to the meeting. When it was taken back to her, God raised her out of her bed immeadiately! She was completely healed!

Imagine this, a dear lady of about 30 years came to the crusade who had never experienced her monthly period. During prayer, she felt the power of God come over her. Right there after the touch of God, she immediately started having her first period!!

Driven by a hunger for God and tired of his sinful life, John came to the crusade. The Gospel message cut him to the heart. He not only gave his life to Christ, but he even decided to profess his faith openly. He came on the platform to let everybody know he now belongs to Jesus. People wept out loud at his testimony! Please pray for him. He will be in danger of great resistance or even death from his family
